Insulation Services

Elite Thermal offers a variety of insulation services in the Los Angeles California area.

The majority of homes built prior to 1978 do not have any exterior wall insulation. This leaves your home with major voids along a critical part of your thermal envelope. We are able to improve this but insulating the exterior walls via the “drill an fill” method. We will dense pack all the framing lanes full with blown insulation giving you the greatly improved thermal barrier you need. This will make a great change to your homes comfort and energy efficiency as well as quieter home!

Majority of homes in Southern California are built on raised foundations. This is a part of the thermal envelope of your home that can be easily improved. Fiberglass batt insulation or Spray Foam would be the most common approach to improving the floor insulation value. Insulating your subfloor will make a nice impact to the efficiency and comfort of the home.
Radiant Barriers are extremely popular in Southern California due to the very consistent sunshine. Radiant Barriers are very effective at lowering the attic temperature leaving any duct work and HVAC unit in a much cooler space allowing them to perform better. Radiant Barrier also helps the insulation perform even better as the insulation will have a lower temperature to protect your conditioned home from.
The attic is where you will find the largest opportunities to save energy in your home.  Studies show today that over 90% of homes in the U.S do not have enough Attic Insulation. By improving the insulation in your attic, you can maintain the desired temperature throughout your home much easier, making your home more comfortable and more energy efficient.
Air Sealing is one of the most popular add-ons done today. This is the best way to seal all the penetrations between your home and unconditioned spaces. We like to call this the “zipper” to your jacket. Using 1-part closed cell foam we will seal all penetrations – i.e. wire holes, top plates, HVAC/plumbing penetrations, ceiling fans/lights, etc.

Our team takes care to properly prep and protect the entire work space with plastic coverings and other necessary precautions. We also take great care to protect all recess lights, junction boxes, and other delicate features during the removal process. We thoroughly remove all existing material, debris, and insulation from the attic space, ensuring that it is properly bagged and disposed of. After the removal process is complete, we use an industrial grade vacuum to thoroughly clean and sanitize the entire attic space.

Questions?

The most common types of attic insulation are fiberglass, cellulose, and spray foam insulation.
One way to determine if your attic needs more insulation is to check the insulation level. In general, attics should have at least R-38 insulation, which is about 10-14 inches of fiberglass or cellulose insulation.
Installing attic insulation can be a DIY project, but it can also be challenging and time-consuming. It is recommended to consult a professional contractor for proper installation.
Wall insulation can improve the energy efficiency of your home, leading to lower energy bills and a more comfortable living environment. It can also reduce noise and improve the overall value of your home.

To determine if your walls need insulation, check for outside noises or difficulty heating/cooling the home. You can also check the insulation in your attic or basement. Consult a professional for a definitive answer and insulation recommendations.

Radiant barriers can be very effective at reducing energy costs, especially in hot climates. By reflecting heat away from your home, radiant barriers can help to keep your home cooler and reduce the amount of work your air conditioning system has to do. This can result in significant savings on your energy bills. In addition, radiant barriers can help to improve the overall comfort of your home by reducing the amount of heat that enters through the attic.
